Yesterday, we mentioned how Bell Textron in Amarillo laid off approximately 30 employees prior to the weekend. Sadly, this is something that is becoming common across the board with companies, big or small. The economy isn't in the best shape, and companies are looking for ways to cut costs and stay afloat.

Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of jobs, and people find themselves having to find a new job and find it quickly. Sure, there are some smaller places hiring right now, along with fast food restaurants desperately looking for people. However, those who lose a career job need to replace it with something similar.

Street Volkswagen Hiring Event

You may not have thought about going out and selling cars. However, this is a business that can be extremely profitable if you have the people skills for it. I've known several people who sold cars for a living and worked their way up the ranks to managers and beyond, earning a very good living.

Street Volkswagen needs people, and they're all set to hold a job fair on June 9 from 9 am to 5 pm. The event will feature on-site interviews, and you could be hired before you even leave the interview. It's also not just salespeople they're looking for; they're hiring for a multitude of positions.

What Jobs Are Available

Yes, sales associates are always in demand, and they will be hiring for those positions. Outside of that, they're also looking for automotive technicians, office administrators, and customer service reps. There's a little something for everyone, and these are typically relatively stable jobs.

You don't need to have experience in the automotive world to come out and potentially be hired. No appointment is necessary, so you can show up whenever it's convenient for you. Just make sure you bring a resume with you and dress to impress. If you can't make it out to 8707 Pilgrim Drive on June 9, you can always apply for a position online.
