After being locked up for 10 months, T. I. is going to be a free man in a couple days.

T.I. was arrested in L.A. on drug charges last September.  While the L.A. charges were dropped, T.I. was found guilty of violating his parole from his 2007 weapons charge.  He was sentenced to 11 months at the Forrest City Correctional Facility in Georgia.

He is set to be released on August 31st, a month early from his original release date September 29, 2011.  Unfortunately, he won't be completely free.  He will have to spend some time at a halfway house.  But that is a whole lot freer than prison.

While in prison, he kept in contact with his fans through TrapMuzik website.  In his last blog, T.I. mentioned that he is ready to get back to work.  Writing:

"Next time you hear from me, I'll be back out there with you.  Doing for those who can't do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard.  When I touch down, I'm going all the way back to square one, like I'm fresh in the game and never sold a record.  Back on some I'm Serious, Trap Muzik Sh--... But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it."

Making the most of his time behind bars, T.I. plans on releasing a book.  And I'm sure he has a been working on some music.  We know that while locked up, T.I. made some friends.  On Memorial day, he chartered a trip for 14 of his inmates families to go and visit. Hopefully, he will stay out of trouble and focus on his music.  We'll have to wait and see.
