Tattoo artists are one of the groups of people I've felt the worst for since the beginning of the pandemic. As everything started reopening, tattoo artists were continually getting pushed back and delayed.

This weekend, there's a tattoo expo coming to town that will feature around 50 artists total.

The expo will be all weekend long, starting tomorrow June 26. It ends on Sunday, June 28.

The Amarillo Tattoo Expo will be held at the Fifth Season Inn at 6801 I-40 Frontage Rd. Tickets are only available at the door.

They will be doing everything they can to keep people safe during the expo. First, all clients are required to wear a mask at all times.

Second, they do say that they will have hand sanitizer readily available at stations throughout the expo.

There will be artists covering a range of styles available at the expo. Their event page lists realism, traditional, black and grey, and color tattoos as just a sampling of the styles that will be represented.

I'm all about getting tattoos. I love mine, even the ones that may seem a little foolish now that I'm older. They represent moments in time. Who I was. Who I am. Who I hope to be.

If you're like me and use tattoos to mark major life events, I can think of nothing better to celebrate than surviving the first half of 2020, determined to make it to January 1, 2021.
