How To Get The Half Priced Deal At Amarillo Zoo

It's pretty simple. Dress as a zookeeper or your favorite animal, and get in for half the price. In a press release earlier today, the City of Amarillo did a break down of just what the cost will be after the discount.

Brace yourself.

For an adult ticket, it is $2.25. For kids ages 3 to 12, it's $1.25. Seniors get in for $1.75 (ages 62 and up).

I think it should go without saying that this is probably the cheapest family day out you'll find this week.

What Is National Zookeeper Week?

It's exactly what it sounds like. It's a week set aside to honor those people who make it their job to take care of the animals at the zoo.

I can't imagine being on staff at a zoo is an easy occupation. I have a hard enough time with my two dogs and cat.

To celebrate the week, everyone gets in July 20 for half the price.

Get Your Outfit Together And Head To The Zoo

The zoo opens up at 9:30 AM and closes at 5 PM. With the way the weather has been lately, I recommend going as early in the day as possible.

Throw on some left over cat ears from Halloween or a pair of khaki shorts and head out to the zoo.
