Easter weekend is upon us here in Amarillo, and there are a lot of different things going on. Yes, obviously, all the different church services on Easter Sunday, and many different events are going on with churches around town.

There's a TON of different Easter egg hunts that will be going on around the city as well. My four-year-old has been talking about one of them for well over a month every time we drive past the one we went to last year, so I know she's ready for it. There are a couple of other fun ways to kick off Easter weekend, though, and I'm here to tell you about them.

Wonderland Opens This Weekend

You heard that right, this is the weekend Wonderland kicks off all the rides and gets Amarillo screaming. This year is a bit different from previous years, as this is the first season for the new owners of the park. They've got all sorts of things in store for you as well.

If you buy your tickets online before heading to the park, you can get some special perks. They also have the season passes still on sale, and they're a GREAT deal. If you go twice this summer, you'll more than pay for the cost of them. You can snag them here. Take a look at the new sign at the entrance, too! The park opens its doors on Friday, April 3.

Sod Poodles Are Back

After you've screamed your way through a few rides, head on over to HODGETOWN, where our beloved Amarillo Sod Poodles are back in action. The Springfield Cardinals are in town for opening night with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm on Friday.

Just when you thought the baseball game would end your day, you're wrong. It's a Friday, and that means fireworks at HODGETOWN after the game. So what are you waiting for? Tickets are available by going here. If you can't make it out, you can listen to the game on NewsTalk 940 AM.
