The moral of this story is to never give a false name to a police officer, and don't do drugs, kids.  A vehicle stop last night on the 800 block of N Apache in Amarillo led to arrests for warrants, and narcotics.  During the vehicle stop, approximately 64 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, 90 various prescription pills, a small quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia were found. Again, don't do drugs kids!  Or you'll end up like Lindsay Lohan, with a lot fewer teeth!

"On 1-5-14, at about 9:00 PM, an APD investigator in an unmarked vehicle recognized a female that he knew was wanted on a felony warrant. She was driving a red Ford pickup. He requested assistance and a marked patrol unit stopped the pickup in the 800 block of N. Apache. The driver initially gave a false name, but the officers confirmed that she was the wanted person. Melody Renae Carter WF 35 of Amarillo was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the outstanding parole violation warrant stemming from a narcotics conviction and a charge of failure to identify while a fugitive. Officers found a zippered bag similar to a bank bag in the front seat of the vehicle. The bag contained approximately 64 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, approximately 90 prescription pills of various types, and a small quantity of marijuana. Investigation led officers to link the narcotics to the female passenger in the vehicle, Billie Jeanne Ramirez WF 28, also of Amarillo. She was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams/under 200 grams, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia."
