Amarillo’s Trail of 1,000 Jack-O’-Lanterns Lights Up Halloween
With Halloween in full swing here in Amarillo, all the different events are starting to pop up. We know about all the corn mazes and farms, such as Maxwell's, and then there are all the different haunts like Amarillo Scaregrounds and 6th Street Massacre.
Let's not forget the movie theaters showing all the classic Halloween movies, whether horror flicks or more lighthearted ones like Ghostbusters. However, if you want to be outside and not freaked out by something, there isn't a whole lot. Enter the Amarillo Botanical Gardens and their Trail of 1,000 Jack-O'-Lanterns.

The Quick Details
The trail is a four-night event that will take place from October 22 through the 26th at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, and it'll run from 6:30 pm to 9 pm each one of those nights.
You can get all the details on that, as well as how much tickets are, where to purchase them, etc., by checking this out.
What Can You Expect At The Trail of 1,000 Jack-O'-Lanterns
Well, I mean obviously you can expect 1,000 Jack-O'-Lanterns; that goes without saying. The walkway will be lit up by them, so you'll be able to see where you're going, but you'll get to enjoy all the different carving work that has gone into them.
If you're hungry or thirsty on your walk, they've got you covered. They'll have your fall favorites with hot chocolate and hot cider to sip on. Hungry? Food trucks will be around, as well as some carnival concessions.
There will also be some games to play along the way, as well as plenty of photo opportunities.
Who Carved All The Jack-O'-Lanterns
So this part is actually really cool. Amarillo Independent School District told the Botanical Gardens that they would have students do a good chunk of the carving, and they followed through in a major way. There will be 300 pumpkins carved by students in the school district.
You will also see three giant singing jack-o'-lanterns along the way. All the pumpkins will be carved early next week to prevent rotting, so it's a quick turnaround. Make sure you get out and enjoy it!
