United Supermarkets Announces New Customer Limits In Stores
United Supermarkets and Market Street join a growing list of stores that are limiting the amount of customers shopping at one time. Stores in Amarillo and all across the country are taking these steps to help customers space-out and create greater distance while navigating narrow aisles. United has announced they will be limiting stores to less than 20% of their occupancy.
The new changes will start before you even enter the store. At locations where there are multiples doors, there will be designated entry and exit doors. Store employees will be stationed at store entrances to keep count of how many people enter and exit the stores. Because of this, the store is asking families to limit the amount of people on each shopping trip.
Inside the stores, aisles will be designated one-way only and marked accordingly to help keep customers moving and limit the need to cross paths. At the checkouts, you will notice floor markers to help keep everyone six feet apart in lines as well as Plexiglas barriers between you and the the check stand attendant. Cashiers will also be sanitizing their work areas and checkouts every 30 minutes as well as washing hands every hour. All employees clocking in to start their workday will be given a health assessment screening before hitting the floor.
United and Market Street stores have already been very diligent about wiping down services and will continue sanitize grocery carts, door handles and checkout pin pads throughout the day. United says they are working hard to start all their new social distancing and safety procedures as soon as possible.
