Ways To Celebrate St. Paddy’s When You’re Stuck At Home
The weather today has been insane. We started out last night with thunderstorms, then the blizzard conditions this morning. No one would blame you if you just stayed home.
So what can you do if you're stuck at home on St. Patrick's Day? I've got a few ideas.
Order Delivery (and be sure to tip well)
You can get pretty much anything delivered to you. Get your St. Paddy's meal brought to your doorstep. Tip your delivery person well. If they get out in this temper tantrum being thrown by Mother Nature, they deserve the extra love.
Load Up Your St. Paddy's Playlist
There are a lot of great Irish Folk playlists on Spotify. If you're looking for something with a little more "party" to it, check out the Celtic Punk playlist they have. Of course, you can't go wrong just loading up The Dubliners and letting it play.
Watch Dropkick Murphys Live Stream Concert
If you're looking for "live" music and don't want to leave the house, pull up the St. Patrick's Day concert stream from Dropkick Murphys. Last year's was a blast. My whole family had a great time singing and dancing in the living room right before the shutdowns happened.
My three oldest kids love DKM's 'Rose Tattoo.'
Go To Bed Early and Forget This Day Ever Happened
This is always an option, especially considering the day we've had. Maybe we can get a mulligan and just celebrate tomorrow, or this weekend. I don't think there are any rules set in stone that say we absolutely have to celebrate today.
St. Paddy's is one of my favorite holidays. When I was younger, it was always a big time at my house. There would be people everywhere singing, dancing, drinking loads of beer, telling wild stories, and eating our weight in food. Weird weather or not, I'm going to find a way to salvage this.
