Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am will not be embarking on a volcanic excursion, as the press released issued regarding the matter turned out to be an elaborate April Fools Day hoax. Gotcha! The folks behind the prank were really going for it, creating an official press release full of bogus quotes and information.

It was reported that will, along with actor Tom Hanks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Seth Green and more, would be a part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Volcanic launch — which was said to have the capability to carry passengers to the molten lava core of an active volcano, reports Ace Showbiz.

Uh, that’s not really a trip we’d want to take, since volcanic lava is unbelievably hot and those structures are known to be temperamental and volatile and could erupt at any time. No thank you! It’s too out there to be true.

The release also claimed will would record a volcanic soundtrack for a documentary about the project.

Turns out, no one is traveling to the earth’s core and no soundtrack is being planned. They were just pulling everyone leg.
