Xcel Energy Wants to Give You a Refund (again)
Xcel energy want to give you money, well your money back to you. Again. Xcel announced that it plans to issue a total $39.4 million refund to customers in Texas in due to savings on natural gas and its usage of wind energy.
Xcel also credited the Hale and Sagamore Wind Projects in Texas and New Mexico with helping to drive down costs.
Plans to issue the refund have been submitted to and must be approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
Under the plan, a customer using 1000 kilowatt-hours per month could see a credit of around $36.50 on your June billing cycle.
In a news release, the company explained that determinations of bill credits are made using their "fuel cost factor," which fluctuates as natural gas and other energy production costs fluctuate.
The amount kilowatt hours you use will vary your refund credit, but it’s always wise to conserve energy.
