Amarillo police responded to a stabbing call in which 2 males were stabbed by a man high on narcotics.  The 2 stabbing victims were trying to have a nice Amarillo summer night cookout, when the meth head came by and ruined things.  They tend to do that!

Both men went to the hospital for treatment.  The man that stabbed the 2 allegedly fled the scene, but they found him.

By the way, I'm not sure he was a "meth head", the release just says he was under the influence of narcotics and meth head is just so fun to say!

Amarillo Police:

"On 7-29-13, at 12:29 AM, officers were sent to a home in the 1800 block of N. Poplar on a stabbing. Officers found that a HM age 27 male had sustained a stab wound to his shoulder and to his stomach. The wounds were not life-threatening. A second stabbing victim, a HM 23, had left the home before police arrived and was going to the hospital. The first victim lived at the address and was later taken to the hospital by ambulance. The suspect had been a guest at the home, where several people were cooking outdoors. The suspect was reportedly under the influence of narcotics. He picked up a knife they were using in the cooking and attacked other people at the home. He cut or stabbed both victims before running away. At 12:38 AM, officers received a call of person trying to pull an air conditioning unit out of the window of a home in the 1400 block of N. Buchanan. The suspect left before officers arrived, but his description matched that of the man that had stabbed the two people on Popular. At about 2:30 AM, officers were sent to the area of 15th and Dumas on a report of a man standing in the roadway, yelling at cars. It was the man that had fled after stabbing two people on Popular. He was Gabriel Vega, HM age 26 of Phoenix, AZ. He had blood on his shirt and hands. He was arrested, treated for minor cuts, and then booked into the Potter Co. Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The second victim was treated at the hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, but no more detail on them is available at this time."
