I have lost many things and sometimes I find them once I stop looking.  But this story is amazing.  A woman in Sweden found her wedding ring 16 years after losing it.

Back in 1995 Lena Paahlsson was in the kitchen with her daughters doing some Christmas baking.  She took off her ring and that was the last time she saw it.  The family searched everywhere.  Even lifting up the tile to see if they could find it.

The wedding band, of course, was special but even more so because Lena designed it herself.

The Paahlssons live on a farm in central Sweden with a garden and animals.  And they got the surprise of a lifetime when they were gardening and noticed a carrot with a gold band attached to it.  Low and behold there was her wedding band, 16 years later.

The explanation?  All the family could come up with it that maybe the ring fell into a sink back in 1995 and was lost in vegetable peelings that were turned into compost or fed to their sheep.

However it happened, the couple is very happy to have the ring back.  What an awesome story!
