2 Amarillo Teens Dead After Hit And Run Accident [UPDATE]

Two young teens were found dead after a hit and run in Amarillo. Gillermo Flores is in custody after hitting the girls with his Dodge pickup on North Mirror Street.

Flores then left the scene of the accident but was later found, arrested, and charged with failure to stop and render aid. Both girls were pronounced dead at the scene. This is very sad news for the families of these 2 young girls no names have been released. Please keep all of these families in your prayers!

After doing some research I found this message from somebody who was there and posted on a social network site:

"I was there, and it was caused from the dodge truck and nissan racing towards Amarillo blvd down mirror street, the girls were 14 and 16, trying to cross the street, and both drivers were speeding not paying attention while racing, sorry but he gets what he deserves for being so careless, was just wondering about the other driver? The driver of the nissan never turned themselves in. God be with the girls families."

Wreckless driving has taken another two lives in the Amarillo area. Pray for these girls families in this tragic time.

Update 10/1/12 11:17:

Gillermo Flores was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram and struck the girls at the Wichita intersection. The two were pronounced dead at the scene. This took place around 8:15 on Sunday night.

Flores was later brought to the jail by a family member and booked.
