5 Things Women Say Around The Holidays That They Don’t Mean

The holidays are in full swing and tension is on the rise.  Let's face it, these next few weeks are bound to stress your wifey out.  Here are five things that women say, but don't mean.

The holidays are wonderful because you get to spend time with your family.  But, all the shopping and preparing are bound to stress everyone out.  Fighting traffic, crowds and in-laws is a lot to take.  Here are a few things that you might hear your wife say this holiday season. Don't believe her.

1. You don't have to buy me anything for Christmas.

All women have said this at least once in their lives and it is a lie.  It doesn't matter if she insists, all women want to get something.  I personally think this is a trick to see if you really care enough about her to buy her something anyway.  Don't fall for it!  Buy you wife/girlfriend something for Christmas.

2. Don't worry, I'll do all the shopping and wrapping for us.

Women are complicated people.  They want you to read their minds.  When women say they'll take care of all the shopping and gift wrapping they are lying.  The truth is they want you to want to help.

3.  Of course your family can stay with us!

While not all women hate their in-laws, the holidays are a stressful time.  Sure they might love seeing them, but they also love their privacy.  She says this to spare your feelings.  Pay attention to her expressions when you ask her.  If it looks like she is putting on a brave face, chances are she isn't ok with it.

4. You go ahead and go out with your friends, I'll stay home with the kids.

This is the biggest lie ever!  You wife/girlfriend doesn't want you to go have fun without her.  It's the holidays and she would like to go out with you too.  As much as she loves the kids, she could use a break every now and then.  Put yourself in her shoes. Would you like to sit at home babysitting while she is out having fun with her friends?

5.  That's ok, I'll clean up.

Christmas day is loads of fun!  Everyone comes over for dinner, opening presents, and hanging out.  It can be a long day in the end.  If your lady tells you "go relax, I'll clean up," chances are she is just being nice.  The truth is she would really love your help so it can get done faster and you both can relax.

I don't know why women say things they don't mean, it is just something we do.  We want to come off as the loving wife/mother that everyone sees.   The truth behind everything is women want you to read their minds.  They want you to do things because you want to, not because they tell you too.  This holiday season, help out a little more and you will see a huge difference in her attitude.
