Have you thought about what you're going to do after you've won the Caribbean cruise we're giving you? After making sure you have your passports up to date, all the paperwork is filled out, itinerary glanced over, travel to and from Galveston taken care of the real fun begins. Here are five tips for when you've finally said, "bon voyage!"

Set Aside Money For One Large Tip

On day one, give the large tip to someone who seems eager to make sure you have a great time. For my five day cruise it was a $100 tip that made sure I was well taken care of. You can split it in half if you want for the beginning and end of the cruise.

    Seasick? Stare into the distance.

If you start feeling seasick (I did for the first few moments of my cruise), stare at the horizon line. Believe it or not, it has helped me when I've started feeling a little nauseous from the motion of the ocean.

Sunscreen Is Your New Best Friend

You would think this would be obvious, but being on the boat led me to believe that the sun wouldn't be that much of a problem. I was wrong. Everywhere I went there was a chance for the sun to nuke my skin with its death rays.

    Pace Yourself

There will be a lot to do on the boat. Pace yourself. You don't need to experience everything on day one. There will be all kinds of entertainment to enjoy. Don't be in a hurry to get everything in. You'll have plenty of time. This is supposed to be a relaxing get away.

Get The Most Of Your Time On Land

When I took my cruise, we stopped in Cozumel. Instead of snorkeling, diving, and doing other thrill seeking activities with the cruise company, I went to the national park. I was able to do all of the same things, at a fraction of the cost. Plus there were fantastic restaurants, incredible views, and it wasn't very crowded. Keep an eye out for chances to get away like this, if you want to get the most for your money.
