A high-speed chase took place late yesterday afternoon. The chase started out at the Amarillo National Bank near 45th & Bell and went thru many neighborhoods and construction areas and was finally called off near the area of 56th and Georgia. Many witnesses say the suspect nearly hit many cars and was surprised the cop in pursuit didn't hit nobody as well. The call to 911 all started out with the suspect was trying to cash a forged check at the Amarillo National Bank.

The suspect got away after Amarillo police called the chase off. Local police have said that they have seen more high-speed chases in the city more then normal they think it might be because of the Holidays.

Do you feel it's a good idea for police to call off high-speed chases?
