An AISD school bus crashed today at the Tascosa Rd and N Coulter intersection in Amarillo.  The bus was carrying 41 children and the bus driver.  Amarillo police officers report that 12 children were transported to the hospital, none with serious injuries, thank God!

"On 11-21-13, at 12:01 PM, officers were sent to the intersection of Tascosa Road and N. Coulter on a traffic accident involving a First Student school bus transporting AISD students and another vehicle. Officers determined that the school bus had been southbound, turning from Coulter to Tascosa Road. A maroon Pontiac Grand Am was westbound on Tascosa Road (FM 1061) and the front of the Pontiac struck the left front area of the bus, just ahead of the driver’s area. The bus carried 41 children from de Zavala Middle School and the bus driver. The bus driver declined medical transport from the scene. Officers said that 12 children, none with serious injuries, were transported to local hospitals. The driver of the Pontiac, a HM 51 of Cactus, TX, was transported with non-life threatening injuries. The incident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time."
