I have to say it's been a very eventful start to the school year here in Amarillo. It started with some of the messiest pickup and drop-off lines at schools.

Now, we're going to throw some bus stories into the mix. Look, I can understand congested lines for picking up and dropping off your kids, but this is something that is so wildly unacceptable it blows my mind that it could even happen.

Not everyone is able to pickup their kids from school. That's why there are afterschool programs as well as the bus system that will get them home. These options are supposed to be things we don't even have to spend a second of worry on.

However, for students and parents at Will Rogers Elementary, that wasn't exactly the case.

This is absolutely amazing. Let's start with the bus arriving an hour and a half late at drop-off. Can you imagine the panic a parent would have if their kid hadn't shown up in a timely fashion around the scheduled drop-off time?

I understand a bit of fluctuation, up to say 15 minutes behind. Traffic could be bad, and accident could've delayed the route, all the normal things we deal with daily. However, and hour and a half?

There's literally no excuse for that, zero.

Then to find out the next day the bus didn't even show up to transport the kids?

Here's my question. Who exactly is responsible for all of this? Maybe that particular bus driver just wasn't feeling their job, totally get that. However, when you are responsible for other peoples children, behavior like not showing up for work or taking your sweet time getting them home is unacceptable.

It's funny, because my youngest son had mentioned wanting to take the bus to school and home, even though it's faster and easier for us to do it ourselves. We live only a few minutes away from his school and have the ability to do it.

Now? I won't even entertain it, because I don't know what I'd do having to deal with that kind of stress.

The Legendary Stories Behind These Six Weird Texas Town Names

It's no secret that Texas is home to some pretty strange town names. While the names of these places are strange enough on their own, sometimes the story behind the name is even stranger.
