Amarillo Are You Ready To Up Your Hatch Game?
What does that even mean? Well, let me help you out. There are certain times of the year that just scream out to need some excitement. The kids are getting ready to go back to school.
Soon it will be football season. Then it will be the holiday season before you know it. Before any of those, there will be Hatch Green Chile Season. Yes, it is a season. Yes, Hatch, New Mexico is a seven-hour drive from here but luckily their Hatch Green Chiles come to us.
I love this time of year because I love the smell of them roasting in Amarillo. I love everything about this time of year.
Yep, weekends in August were made for this fine pepper to make its appearance again. Here we are. If you are a fan of everything Hatch Green Chile related I am sure you mark your calendar too.
I love everything about Hatch Chile Season....and I love going to Market Street to get my fix. It is the closest United Supermarket to my home. You get to choose whether you want mild or hot. I tend to lean more toward the hot variety. I sometimes buy both, though, and mix them together. I usually buy enough to keep me well stocked until the next season.
I love learning about new recipes that I can add my peppers to. Heck, I love going through the store and buying stuff already with the yumminess included. I have even bought Hatch Green Chile wine. That is a thing.
So enjoy all this greatness while you can. Find your Hatch Green Chile favorites all over Amarillo. While they last.
