Temps To Plummet In Amarillo

Looking at the forecast for the next 14 days in Amarillo paints a very different picture than we had for the previous 14 days. According to the forecast, we are only expected to have four days at 80 degrees, and each one of those days is barely going to touch 80.

Outside of that, we're looking at mid to low 70s with a few 60-something degree days mixed in there. Overnight lows? A lot of evenings in the 40s with several in the lower 40s. The entire Texas Panhandle will see temperatures dip a good 10 degrees or more, and they expect those temps to sustain.

Time To Do Fall Prep

Aside from the obvious of starting to drag out those cooler-weather clothing items, there are a few things you should be doing to prep your home for the cooler temps and inevitable rain that will come with it. There are a few easy tasks to do right now.

Check all your windows for any leaks or gaps. You don't want the water or cooler air sneaking into your home. Clean out any gutters on your home as they'll fill up with those falling leaves. Cover up that outdoor furniture when you aren't using it, otherwise it'll get moldy or weathered.

We aren't quite to winter prep yet, but doing these things before it gets too chilly or wet will make life a lot easier come winter.

Health Issues With Season Change

As the temperatures and seasons change, it brings on some changes in our bodies. One of the biggest things we deal with each season change is allergies, so make sure you're stocked up on those allergy meds.

Headaches are another common issue we deal with. The air pressure changes, and our bodies take a little time to adapt to that, and the temperature changes. You may experience other minor symptoms as well, but headaches are seemingly the most common.
