Amarillo FD Assisting With Copper Breaks Wildfire
The Amarillo Fire Department is assisting the Quanah Volunteer Fire Department in battling the Copper Breaks wild fire.
The Texas A&M Forest Service is reporting the wildfire is only 20 percent contained and is creeping westward. In a press release Quanah Volunteer Fire Department Captain Kade Risinger stated, “This is probably the biggest fire we’ve had in 20 years that I can think of.”
The Copper Breaks fire has grown to a whopping 8000 acres from 5000 acres in 24 hours, the fire will need to be continuously fought 24/7 with the help of AFD and other local departments.
