Les Jones from Amarillo recently stayed the night at a place said to be one of the scariest hotels in the country - the St. James Hotel in Cimmarron, New Mexico.

The St James Hotel was built in 1872. Many famous outlaws and other Wild West icons stayed at the hotel, like Wyatt Earp, Jesse James, Buffalo Bill Cody, Clay Allison, Black Jack Ketchum, Billy the Kid, and Thomas James Wright.

Legend says that over 26 people were killed at the hotel. It's rumored that the spirits still linger around the hotel and in the rooms. People might smell the scent of cigar smoke or lady's perfume the air. In the middle of the night, you might hear footsteps in the rooms upstairs, which is not even open to the public. There have been many people who have stayed at the St. James hotel and have witnessed some kind of paranormal activity!

The St. James hotel is open to the public all year around. If you're into ghost hunting and want to stay at the hotel check out www.exstjames.com for more information.
