Amarillo Police Department Looking For New Recruits

The Amarillo Police Department is looking for you!  May 14th, they will have their annual test for the 90th Police Academy.The Amarillo Police Department will be conducting a Basic Police Academy Civil Service Entrance Exam on Saturday, May 14th. The 90th Academy is scheduled to begin on December 1st, 2016. The deadline for ALL applications is Friday, May 6th, 2016 at 5:00pm.

First, you'll need to download and fill out the application.  Get the application at www.amarillo.gov and click on the "Careers" link.  The deadline for ALL applications is Friday, May 6th, 2016 at 5:00pm. Study guides can be downloaded at the Amarillo Police Department's website: www.amarillopolice.org.

The job pays well.  Starting salary for a police recruit in the academy is $46,863/year. After 4 years the officer’s salary is $63,468/year.

The City of Amarillo pays a portion of your health insurance. Employees and their family who are covered by the City health insurance can use the free City Care Clinic.
