Amarillo Police have issued a release regarding the termination of officer, or I mean EX officer Donald Ray Sanders Jr.  Sanders was the subject of a criminal investigation being performed by the Randall County Sheriff's Office.  Officer Donald Ray Sanders Jr., also the Caprock High liaison officer, was arrested and booked into Randall county jail on sexual assault charges.

He has been booked with a $75,000 bond.  Police stated that the incident is not connected to his assignment as a liaison officer and is still under investigation.

So, if you ever got a ticket or were ever arrested by officer Sanders and thought; "wow, what an a-hole", you can have a great laugh knowing you did in fact get the last laugh.

"On Saturday, September 14th, Chief Robert Taylor was advised that a member of the Amarillo Police Department, Donald Ray Sanders Jr., was the subject of a criminal investigation being conducted by the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Sanders was immediately placed on administrative leave pending outcome of the investigation, and the APD initiated an internal investigation. The internal investigation disclosed information sufficient to justify termination of the officer. On Monday morning, 9-16-13, his next scheduled work day, Sanders was terminated from the Amarillo Police Department. Sanders has been employed by the Amarillo Police Department since 2003.
The criminal investigation into the allegation is being conducted by the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. The criminal misconduct is alleged to have occurred outside the city limits of Amarillo. The allegation that the department is aware of involves off-duty, personal conduct by the officer. The incident is in no way connected to Sanders’ employment as an officer and is not connected to his assignment as a school liaison officer."
