The Worst Pick-Up & Drop Off School Lines In Amarillo Are…
When school kicked back off about a month ago here in Amarillo, we saw a lot of people immediately begin to complain about how bad the pickup and drop-off lines were at some of the schools. I can attest to it because my youngest son's school is no picnic.
We read all the posts about how bad a certain school was, then all the comments with people saying, "I see your school, and I'll raise you mine". The back and forth of it was actually quite entertaining...if you weren't sitting in line waiting for a kid.
It isn't necessarily the waiting part before they come out. It's the waiting part AFTER they come out. That's what drives me the craziest. There seem to be multiple locations to drop off and pick up, so it creates quite a mess in some places as vehicles are jockeying for position to get out.
We wanted your opinion on this, and that's when we decided to put this poll out there for you to answer. Answer you did. We understand that it's subjective on where your kiddo goes to school, but more answers for one over the other says something.
Today, I'm proud to present the results of the poll with you.
THE WORST DROP-OFF LINE
So this one had quite a few different answers, and amazingly it was predominantly middle and high schools that were found on the list. With how many elementary schools there are in the area, I anticipated seeing a lot more of those here.
The one that received the most votes? That one belongs to Caprock High School. I've been to the school a few times, and truthfully I can see how it would be bad especially if the drop-off is at the front of the school. Trying to get out of there when everyone is trying to get to work can't be easy.
THE WORST PICK UP LINE
This one had even more responses than the drop-off line honestly, and we found ourselves with a tie. One of these schools I can personally attest to being quite possibly the worst in the city.
First off, I'd like to say welcome back Caprock. It's been a while since we've seen you on a worst list. Quite an achievement to be on BOTH of these lists, but you've succeeded. Again, I point to it being how it can't be easy to get out of that parking lot.
The school they tied with is Austin Middle School, and from experience, I can say this is HORRID. The streets are already a bit narrow through there, but then you add cars on BOTH sides of the street, and through the neighborhood and it gets messy. Not to mention everyone is impatient and tries to get cars four-wide essentially. You've got the cars parked and waiting on both sides plus cars trying to travel in each direction. It's truly a mess.
THE BEST PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
So we changed things up a bit with this question, but we were curious if anyone thought their respective schools had great lines. The short answer here is no, they really don't. There was a HUGE drop-off in answers to this question, and only a few schools received a single vote. Apparently everyone believes the lines just suck.
