One thing Amarillo is known for is its horrendously timed traffic lights. All over the city you'll find lights that are so poorly timed that you'll manage to hit every single one red in succession.

Now, each stretch of traffic lights has its starting point. You know that if you hit that ONE light red, you're done for, and a good five minutes just got added on to your trip.

The real debate is this. Which one is TRULY the worst stop light in town? That one where if you hit it, you slam your head on the steering wheel knowing it's going to be a long stretch.

Well there are a few of those lights in town, and we contend that the one at I-40 and Washington may very well be the worst.

Comments started flooding in as to where the worst light truly is, and while Washington seemed to make the list often, the particular light we mentioned didn't seem to be THE one that was talked about.

I-27 and Washington definitely garnered quite a few votes. I would agree that one is definitely not one you want to get stuck at. The lights are not anywhere in concert there and it causes way too many accidents or at least almost accidents.

Another popular street mentioned was Bell. Now this one I didn't have much experience with until I moved. Several people brought up different spots on Bell and it almost caused a virtual fist fight as to where the worst spot was.

So let's keep it going. Where are the absolute worst lights in Amarillo? I have a feeling by the time we're done, 75% of the city will be covered.
