Today, New Years Eve, in Amarillo, TX, the Wells Fargo Bank at 2000 S. Washington was a victim of armed robberyAmarillo Police Officers were dispatched at approximately 12:40pm.

Employees told officers the robber was a white male, in his late 20’s, 5’8, with light colored hair, and a slim face. The suspect did not have any facial hair and was wearing a dark coat/jacket with a blue hoodie underneath.

The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic shotgun!  Which is a pretty serious weapon, one that I for one would definitely have just handed the money over if pointed at me!

Amarillo Police:

The suspect entered the bank and approached the teller line where he told the teller to give him all the money in the drawer. He did point the weapon at the teller while making his demands. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect took off out the front doors of the bank. No vehicle was seen or heard. This incident is still under investigation.
