This one is a bit different, however. Yes, it was indeed a vehicle stolen this time. It was NOT a car though.

Ever heard of a gyrocopter? It's kind of like a helicopter, but it doesn't operate the same. It's an aircraft that uses an unpowered rotor to operate. Forward thrust for it to move is supplied by an engine-driven propeller.

They're definitely interesting and cool-looking machines, and now there's one on the loose in the city.

Amarillo Crime Stoppers is on the lookout for a gyrocopter that was snatched from the 1000 block of Sunset Terrace on May 3.

Now, this shouldn't be TOO hard to find I would think, it's not something you can just hop in and drive around on the street hoping you aren't seen. I get a feeling a lot of people would notice one of these up in the air or trying to take off from somewhere.

This particular model is a KB2 Dropkeled Gyrocopter, with a tail number of N243ST. That's essentially its license plate for those that don't know. This particular gyrocopter had its front fairing removed when it was taken.
