There's a few things we're used to in Texas, one of them being celebrities roaming around. With so many big cities, and the talent that comes from them, a lot of them are natives.

So when we see a Matthew McConaughey roaming around Austin, it isn't surprising, and we tend to treat him just like any Texas resident.

We're also used to a lot of different big time events happening here. We've got Formula 1 that rolls through Austin every year, more pro sports teams than we can count on two hands, and rockets.

Yes, I said rockets.

Celebrities and rockets are about to come together in a big way here in our state. This spring, we are going to get a chance to see some of the biggest names in entertainment and TV head up into the great unknown named space.

Blue Origin has announced there is going to be an all-female crew headed up in the rocket this spring, and you've probably heard of a few of the people going up.

Now, in case you forgot, Blue Origin is the brainchild of Jeff Bezos, the owner/CEO of Amazon. It's a fully autonomous rocket that will shoot up into space, get above the Karman Line, which is the internationally recognized boundary of space, and allow the crew members to feel the weightlessness of space.

So who's going up? One person is Bezos' fiancee, author Lauren Sanchez. The next person? How about Oprah's best friend, and TV personality Gayle King.

The third person named for the flight? None other than pop superstar Katy Perry, who referenced the childhood version of herself when talking about going up high into the sky.

Can't wait for them to take flight and come back to Earth to report their findings and what it felt like to be in space.
