Ever since the introduction of video games, there is an assumption that board games have lost their popularity. We're learning in Amarillo, that isn't necessarily the truth.

Just about a month ago, I wrote about a place opening in Canyon that is all about board games and being able to go in, drink some drinks, eat some snacks, and play board games for hours.

While it may be a bit longer before that opens, there are still plenty of people out there looking for a place to connect with others through board games. In fact, I didn't even realize there were so many groups you could find on Facebook right here in Amarillo that are all about board games.

One of the groups, aptly named "Amarillo Board Game Group" apparently holds a board game night a couple of times a month, and it's very well attended.

Every first and third Monday of the month, many gather in the café area at the United Supermarket on 45th and Bell to break out their favorite games and play with friends, and even new friends.

Game night there starts at 6 pm, and it seems to run for however long it wants to run. This isn't a game night either where it's just certain games, it appears that all sorts of different games get broken out.

You're bound to find some of those strategic games like D&D for sure, but you will undoubtedly find some of those old school favorites you remember playing when you were growing up. If you're a board game enthusiast, it's definitely worth a look!

Every Time Jeopardy! Asked a Question About Amarillo

Amarillo might not be a bustling urban metropolis, but it most certainly is full of quirky characters, unexpected treasures, and historical gems that fly under the radar. It should really be no surprise that our fair Yellow City has popped up more than a few times on Jeopardy!

What's that? How many times is "more than a few times"? Well, take al look and see for yourself.
