Maybe it's Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, or just the fact that 2 major highways run through Amarillo, but we see a lot of out of town faces here in this city.  Being that an Ebola case out of Dallas took the life of the patient, it's natural for everyone to be worried with Dallas being within driving distance.  So today, when BSA Hospital went into lockdown due to a high risk, possible Ebola patient, there was some panic.  The City of Amarillo sends this response to citizens.

Amarillo Police Department/City of Amarillo:

"On 10-15-14, at 4:15 PM, the City of Amarillo was notified by Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital that a patient had reported to the hospital with health indications that led BSA to take precautions to isolate the patient.  The hospital notified the City of Amarillo’s Dept. of Public Health.  The city activated the Emergency Operations Center, staffed by representatives from City of Amarillo administration, emergency management, public health, Amarillo Medical Services, fire, and police departments.  The hospital lifted their precautionary response at about 6:15 PM and their statement to the media reflects their resumption of normal operations.  All city resources were on stand-by and the EOC is in the process of standing down."

It's nice to know we have a plan in place for these situations, but what would happen if citizens took things to far and decided to get violent?  Everyone I've spoke to fears that the most, what do you fear more?

My family is by no means a doomsday preparing family, when God calls us, he calls us and that's that.  But we do have the necessary protection to get us through a moment of chaos, because we believe that is God's calling for us.  I'm not talking about guns, though we do have them, I'm talking about hazmat suits, gas masks with cartridges for everyone, FEMA approved bags that are ready to grab and go that contain enough to get 2 people through 2 weeks of survival, and the list goes on and on.
