It was a chilling story last night as news of a body being dumped out of a car into the middle of the street hit.  Witnesses say they saw a body thrown from a moving vehicle at the 200 block of Bryan in Amarillo.  The victim has been identified as 29 year old Lance Lee Hooser.

"At 6:50 PM officers were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Bryan on an assault. When the officers arrived they found a man lying in the middle of the street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound and other injuries. An off-duty police officer was administering first aid to the man before other officers arrived. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson ordered an autopsy which will be performed in Lubbock on Thursday. Witnesses said the victim was pushed out of a vehicle onto the street. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. The victim was identified as Lance Lee Hooser, age 29."

If anyone has any information about the death of Mr. Hooser, call the Special Crimes Unit at 378-9468.

It's scary to think that I'm about to have a child.  I used to think Amarillo was the perfect place to raise a family...so sad.
