Did You See The Strange Lights In The Amarillo Sky This Week?

Right as everyone was talking about the Pentagon's release of videos featuring "unidentified aerial phenomenon," some strange lights appeared in the Amarillo sky. Don't worry, it's not our galactic overlords coming to harvest us. You can blame Elon Musk.

Also, we weren't alone. Videos popped up all over with people talking about these strange lights appearing in a row in the night sky.

What we all eventually found out, is that those lights were satellites. Those satellites are a part of Elon Musk's SpaceX Starlink project. You can find out more about the project by clicking this link.

They tout it as the world's "most advanced broadband Internet system." Those satellites are part of a larger project to supply the world with Internet access.

In fact, the website says it should be providing access to the U.S. and Canada in 2020, and it should reach most of the populated world by 2021.

Can you imagine global Internet access? Rural areas with no real reliable access would finally be online. When you go camping, your kids will be able to argue with you over getting to watch YouTube.

When we complain about issues with our service provider, we could be talking about a company owned by the same guy who made the Boring Company Flamethrower.

The future is a bright one.

For now, don't worry about that particular set of strange lights in the sky. That's just Elon Musk and one of his many projects.
