Reality shows are a norm in today's society. If you have a pawn shop, are a hoarder, a fisherman, or even live in the swamp you can have a set of cameras follow you. And now "The Green", a once illegal and controversial drug, will be the focus of a Discovery Channel show.
You can flip on any channel and see some type of reality show. Its normal and they get ratings. People like real life and what better than to do a show about something that has been criticized for years, drugs. This show is the newest show to be done by the Discovery Channel. It will be similar to A&E's 'Storage Wars', but it will give us a look into the Oakland medical marijuana dispensary shop-Harborside Health Center. This store or 'medical center' calls itself the largest retailer of cannabis in the United States.
The owner, Steve DeAngelo, will allow cameras to follow him around in his daily operations, including how the product is prepared and sold.
Oh I can see all the pot lovers eyes just light up!
Marijuana for medical use has been legal in California since 1998 when voters passed the Compassionate Use Act. And since then, Harborside Health Center has blossomed and currently has more than 80,000 patients. DeAngelo's goal is to teach the rest of the nation about full regulation and taxation of medical cannabis.

Harborside Medical not only sells "the green" in its natural form, but they have a wide variety of edibles.  At any given time, you can get baked goods like cookies, candy bars, ice cream or even drinks.  All made with cannabis.

So pretty much, he is going to show us how he grows the "the stuff", use it or eat it, and then sells it all legally. So grab a bag of Doritos, a glass of Kool-aid and pull up a chair. I'm sure this is just going to open a door for similar reality shows. You can look for the show this fall on the Discovery Channel.
What do you think? Are you going to watch?
