The Controversial Show About Drugs Faces Even More Controversy By Giving A Five Year Old Medical “Green” [VIDEO]

Over the years there has been much debate about the legalization of "the green" for medical use.  It is legal in California and thanks to a new show called found on the Discovery Channel, we can get an inside look.

The Show premiered at the beginning of December.  It allows cameras to give us an inside look of the day to day operation of Harborside Health Center, a medical "Green" dispensary.  It shows everything from the purchase of the the drug, dealing with state inspectors, to dealing with taxes to the actual patients.

I was flipping through the channels the other day when I saw it was on, so I decided to check it out.  I was honestly surprised to see the different types and ages of the patients.  Old to young with everything from cancer to arthritis.  Theses patients really believed in the healing powers of this plant.

But what really caught my attention was when a man came in to inquire about his 5 year old son.  Yes I said 5 years old.  His son has had seizures since he was four months old.  Sometimes they can get so bad that they last up to an hour.  Jason, the father, said he tried everything and this was his last hope.

He went in and talked to the people at the center and specifically said he did not want to get his son high, he just wanted to ease his seizures. He was given a tincture of medical cannabinoid (CBD) which they told him was non-intoxicating and would not have any side effect.

So as the episode came to a close Jason updated his son's status.  He went from having multiple seizures a day to going five days without one.  That really shocked me.  And as controversial as it sounds, if I had a son in the same medical situation, I would probably do the same thing.  Apparently the CBD had no 'high' effect and helped with the seizures.  Wow!
