A traffic violation turned drug bust in the Texas Panhandle on I-40, east of Amarillo, near Conway, TX.  DPS seized over $2.7 million in heroin, just over 15 pounds, after stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City by way of I-40.  That means they came straight through Amarillo and made it about 30 minutes outside the city.

"At approximately 5:22 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Ford Five Hundred passenger car traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.
