Things in Texas are about to get a bit interesting. The roadways are going to have something on them that should effectively freak you out a bit, as I know I'm already panicking a bit about it.

Then again, the more I think about it, maybe it's not the WORST thing that could happen.

We know all the rage about these driverless cars, right? Cameras, sensors, etc. are something relatively common on cars these days and those things tend to make us better drivers. It gives us more of a view of things around us that we may not see.

But this blew me away a bit, and I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet.

Driverless Uber's have been slowly rolling out across the country, and it seems the results have been pretty good as I haven't heard about any accidents involving them. How do you feel about driverless semitrucks though?

Well, I guess it doesn't really matter because they're here, and they are about to hit the highways of Texas whether you're ready or not.

Aurora Innovation Inc. is about to roll out these driverless semitrucks in Texas, but the crazy thing is this isn't something new. They've been doing it since 2021 and we haven't even noticed it.

In those trucks, there was indeed a person who would hang out in the cab and take over if needed, so there was that safety guard. Now, they're ready to remove the person and let the truck roll on its own.

The company is starting with one driverless truck and going from there once they see how it acts. It's loaded with 25 different cameras and different types of lasers, giving it essentially a 360 view of everything around it.

No word on where the truck is planning to travel, but my guess is they won't be rolling it through a high traffic area, but hey, I've been wrong before.

21 Texas Towns With Extra Naughty Nicknames

Texans simply do not hold back when it comes to nicknames, so here's a warning now if you have delicate sensibilities. Some of these names are pretty brutal, perhaps undeserving. Others, well...they walked right into it.
