Amarillo Police are investigating an early morning traffic collision that took place at the Amarillo Blvd and Triangle Drive, sending 4 people to the hospital, 1 with life-threatening injuries.

One arrest was made, the driver of the vehicle at fault, who had to take a trip to the hospital before he got booked into Potter County Jail.

"On September 15, 2013 at approximately 12:52 AM, officers were dispatched to a wreck at E. Amarillo Blvd and Triangle Dr. Officers determined that the collision occurred in the 8000 Block of East Amarillo Blvd. A 2005 Chevy Silverado had been eastbound in the right lane of the 8000 block of East Amarillo Blvd. It rear ended a 2001 Dodge 2500 dually driven by Daniel Wood Craig, WM, 56 of Amarillo. The driver of the Chevrolet and a passenger fled the scene. The front seat passenger in the Chevrolet was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by AFD. He was Jose Sanchez-Magana, WM, 34. Sanchez-Magana was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Craig was taken to a local hospital and treated. He was later booked into jail for traffic warrants. Officers found the passenger that fled the scene. He is Juan Alberto Sanchez, WM, 28. He was found near a home in the 7800 block of Triangle Drive, where he was seeking help. He was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was caught later in the morning. He was found in a home in the 700 block of N. Garfield at about 4:30 AM. He had dried blood on the front of his clothing and a head injury that was consistent with the collision. He is Diego Garcia Ramirez, WM, 20. Ramirez was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, treated and released. He was booked in to Potter County Sheriff’s Office Jail for Accident causing Injury/Death."

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
