Early Voting Is Here In Amarillo & Canyon! What You Need To Know.
We're starting to get down to crunch time in the political races here in Amarillo as early voting opens today and runs through April 29th. Early voting can give us an early look on how some of the races are shaping up, and allows candidates a chance to figure out how hard they need to push in the closing stages.
It also provides those who are unable to go vote on election day to get in and have their voices heard. The hottest race is the race for Mayor of Amarillo as early financial returns show we COULD have a changing of the guard.

Both Potter County and Randall County will have five different places in which you can go and vote early. Both counties will have their early voting open from April 22 through April 25th between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm.
The hours will extend for April 28 and April 29 as they'll be open from 7 am to 7 pm those days.

What You Need In Order To Vote
If you're going to vote in person, you need to bring a valid form of photo ID. This doesn't have to be a driver's license. There are several different forms of state-issued ID you can use, such as a Texas personal ID card, Texas handgun license, or Texas election identification certificate. Yes, a driver's license is valid, of course.
Other acceptable forms of ID include a U.S. military photo ID, U.S. passport, or U.S. citizenship certificate with a photo.
