Get Fit's annual Cold as Ice Run is taking place this weekend and you can still get registered.

I'll be honest, I'm not a runner and would probably die if I had to run down my block, much less a mile, 5k or 10k.  However, I know Amarillo is filled with runners and you may be one of those who loves a great challenge.

How Far is the Run?

You can run a 10K, 5K, or 1 mile in the Cold As Ice Run this Saturday, January 29th.   The races will begin at 8:30am at Get Fit located at 1911 S. Georgia.

Where Can I Register?

You can register online here, until January 27th.  Packet pick up for the race will be Friday, January 28th at Get Fit from 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Is there a cost to register?

The cost is $25 and the first 200 to register will get a free t-shirt

What is the race route?

The race will start at Get Fit and continue through the Wolflin Area, you can see a race route here.

Does this Race Benefit Anyone?

The Cold As Ice Race benefits the Bridge Children's Advocacy Center.

The Bridge Children's Advocacy Center is a comprehensive, child-focused program that offers a highly effective, one-step approach to child abuse investigations. The facility allows law enforcement, child protection professionals, prosecutors, and the mental health communities to work together to assist victims of child abuse and sexual assault in a cohesive manner.

Bundle up and get ready to run for a great cause this Saturday!

We Put on Some Miles This Year Around Amarillo

We end up walking a lot of miles all over Amarillo to train for the 3 Day Susan G Komen walk.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
