There has been a lot of activity in the air lately around Amarillo, and truthfully it has a lot of people in a bit of a panic as to what's happening.

When I say activity in the air, I don't mean UFO's or anything like that. I'm talking about helicopters. It seems there have been a lot of them floating around the city lately. So what's the reasoning for it?

Some have thought that it was in preparation for a potential attack. Now, while I don't believe it's anything like that, I mean, anything is possible right? However, I don't believe that's the reason.

Could it be Bell testing out new helicopters? I mean, Amarillo is a home for Bell so that's a potential reason we've seen (and felt) so many lately. The new Ospreys have been flying around a bit lately so that could certainly be a reason.

The most likely answer here is military. We are seemingly in the route between Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City and Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, so there could be a little more activity there that we could be experiencing.

Also, the Air National Guard has a tendency to do a lot of touch and go's here in Amarillo and they use a lot of different types of choppers and planes for that, so that could be another logical explanation.

At the end of the day, there is nothing to panic about. While it could be a bit louder around Amarillo for the time being, there is nothing to be worried or panicked about.
