A male subject has been making threats to employees at Hillside Christian Church at Hillside & Soncy in Amarillo, resulting in the church going into lockdown mode.  The threats left the employees concerned for their safety by the threats being made by the male subject, who was actually inside the the church in the sanctuary.  Amarillo Police stepped in, and took the man into custody.

"On Wednesday January 8th, at approximately 11:45am, officers were dispatched to the Hillside Christian Church at Hillside and Soncy reference a male subject making threats. While officers were en route additional information was received that a W/M had made some very vague threats to employees at the church as well as some delusional/irrational comments that employees felt were cause for concern for their safety. Church officials decided to secure the building until officers could arrive, however before officials were able to secure the building the male subject had entered the church. Officers secured the perimeter and were preparing to enter the building in attempt to locate the individual. Due to the complexity of the church campus additional officers were called to assist. SWAT, APD Negotiators, COPPS, Motors, Detectives, as well as Randall Co. SO, and DPS were on scene to assist. Prior to officers making entry the suspect was contacted by phone and he identified his particular location inside the church. The male subject was located in the sanctuary and was taken into custody without any further incident. It is unknown at this time what the connection is between the male and church as to whether he is a member or not. The male subject was arrested and transported to Randall County Jail where he was booked into jail on a charge of Trespassing. He is identified as David Michael Stoltz W/M 36. The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are possible."
