If NBC Gets A Fine For M.I.A. Flipping Off The Camera At Super Bowl 2012 Half-Time Show, She’ll Have To Pay The Fine! [Video]

I need to wag my finger at M.I.A. and yes it is the middle finger I'm waging.  I'm outraged!  How dare here flip off the camera during the Super Bowl half-time performance!  She showed us that not only does she get high like paper and fly like planes, but so does her middle finger.  Okay so I'm really not upset at all about it, but why must there be 1 celebrity every year that tries to do something crazy and stupid while performing at the half-time show?  I expected it to be one of the LMFAO boys but nooooo M.I.A. had to be the rebel I guess.

Well NBC did a good job of covering their butts in the case.  If any fines are imposed they aren't going to lose any sleep or money as M.I.A. will have to pick up the fees or at least that's what TMZ's sources are saying.

Our sources say ... the NFL has indemnified NBC ... because the NFL is responsible for the halftime content.

But the NFL was smart, given the history of performers who wanted to do something shocking to get attention during the biggest TV event of the year.  So we're told ... M.I.A. signed a contract with the NFL for the halftime performance, and in that contract M.I.A. agreed to indemnify the NFL for any money it might be forced to pay if the FCC comes down on the Peacock Network.

Remember CBS got hit with a fine over a half a million dollars for Janet Jackson's little wardrobe malfunction, but that was thrown out by federal court.  Either way TV networks and the NFL all learned a valuable lesson and that's make these performers responsible for their own actions. I finally applaud them for learning this lesson.
