An NBA Star Was Recently In Amarillo For A Ribbon Cutting
It's not very often an NBA star comes rolling through Amarillo, but that's exactly what happened on Sunday as a new church facility was announced.
Triumph Church Ministries revealed a new athletic and church facility at 4100 Republic Ave., and a star was there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Who Is Immanuel Quickley
Quickley is currently a guard for the Toronto Raptors. He was drafted out of the University of Kentucky in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He never played a game for the Thunder as he was traded on draft night to the New York Knicks. He carved out a nice role with the Knicks and finished second in the Sixth Man Of The Year voting in 2023. He was traded to the Raptors as part of a big trade package.

What Are Quickley's Ties To Amarillo
While Quickley doesn't hail from here, he does have some strong ties to the community.
His godfather is Bishop Jackie Riles, who is with Triumph Church Ministries, and he and Quickley have remained in close contact since Quickley was a kid.
Why Did Quickley Come To Amarillo
Quickley was here to help with the reveal of a new church and athletic facility that Triumph Church Ministries is going to be opening. He was in town to be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony and as support for his godfather on his big day.
He wasn't here just to help cut the ribbon, but Quickley also donated to the cause in order to help the facility get built. After the ribbon cutting, Quickley hung around and spoke with people at the ceremony and signed some autographs.
