I have always been a big fan of Market Street. That is where I do ALL of my shopping. I remember when it opened. I was thrilled to have a grocery store in my neighborhood again. I remember the days of Homeland being where the Dollar Tree is now.

Yes, that has always been my hood so having a brand new store those many years ago thrilled me. I loved the concept of it. The Market area to run in and grab a breakfast burrito, maybe a chicken strip meal. It was convenient. They had a United Express for me to fill up my tank. Oh, and that is the only place I go in town to get gas.

My wonder over the years was why is this the only Market Street concept in the city? I mean if we can have a Toot n' Totum on every street corner I feel we could make another Market Street happen.

Are We Finally Getting Another Market Street in Amarillo?

Yes, we really are. I am excited about this. I saw this on the Coldwell Banker's Facebook page:

Yes, you saw that correctly. There will be a Market Street moving into the neighborhood. It will be located at Hollywood (Loop 335) and Coulter. So yes, Amarillo is big enough to support two Market Streets and our other United Supermarkets. This really is exciting.

When Will This New Location Open?

According to the graphic we can expect to be shopping at this new location in the fourth quarter of next year. A new place for groceries and a great opportunity to join their rewards program and save money on gas and other things. With the price of gas who couldn't use that help?
