A bald Barbie doll?  Does it really seem that weird?  Mattel is feeling the pressure to produce what's been dubbed a Cancer Barbie Doll to help little girls that are cancer patients still feel beautiful even when they suffer from hair loss that is commonly associated with cancer treatments.

The campaigns for the new doll design can be found all over the web, including Facebook. The beautiful and bald, almost sounds like a soap-opera doesn't it?

"We would like to see a Beautiful and Bald Barbie made to help young girls who suffer from hair loss due to cancer treatments, Alopecia or Trichotillomania," the creators of the Beautiful and Bald Barbie facebook page wrote.

They believe that it not only has therapeutic benefits for the patients themselves, but also for family members and friends of cancer patients.

Accessories for the Bald Barbie would include a variety of hats and scarves instead of the normal hair brush.

Here's my thoughts on it.  How about instead of Mattel investing a ton of cash into this Cancer Barbie Doll, they donate the money to cancer research!  It doesn't take a genius to figure out that research money to actually help fight and cure cancer in children would be way more beneficial then a bald headed Barbie doll.
