Every resource I've looked at across the world wide web says that sleeping in your car, in Texas, is legal. If you're driving, and feel yourself getting sleepy, get some sleep.

Many of the resources point out that there are some stipulations, of course.

No drugs, and no alcohol. You can still get popped for DWI or DUI. Also, don't sleep in the front seats. You also want to make sure the vehicle is turned off, and the keys aren't in the ignition.

There's also a rule that's constantly mentioned stating that you can't park at a rest stop for more than 24 hours.

Of course, you'll want to make sure you're safe. Pick a good location, and double check for any signs that forbid getting some sleep.
