I'm not usually one to spend a lot of time lurking on Facebook Marketplace trying to find a good bargain. I've never been able to spot something that grabs my attention. That was until a friend of mine sent me a photo that made my mouth drop. I had no idea there was a prosthetics side of Marketplace in Amarillo.

You Really Can Get Just About Anything On Amarillo's Facebook Marketplace

The bargain shopper side of the social media behemoth is one that never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think I can't be shocked anymore, something comes along to prove me wrong. This time my jaw hit the floor. I never thought of a prosthetic arm or leg as being something that would have possible resale value or would be the kind of thing you could just pass along to someone else. I suppose I always imagined they were tailor-made.

On the Amarillo Facebook Marketplace, you can find arms and legs, and in a wide variety. The prosthetics range in price and style, and most come along with some kind of story. The one that caught my attention though went above and beyond to be unique.

You Can Get A Tinkerbell Leg For $50 On Amarillo Facebook Marketplace

That's right. This prosthetic leg comes complete with Disney's Tinkerbell painted on it. I've never seen anything like it before in my life. The leg looks to be light pink and decorated with a massive Tinkerbell tattoo...for lack of a better word. All it would set you back is $50.

The description left me with some questions. All it says is that the price is negotiable and that they "don't have a use for it no more". What does that mean? How does one suddenly not need their prosthetic leg? It isn't like that's the kind of situation that just solves itself if you catch my meaning. Legs don't just grow back.

There is an individual who actually asked the seller about the leg, and it turns out the leg belonged to his girlfriend. According to the seller, it has never been worn and is in "pretty good shape". Now, I'm honestly feeling bad for the guy.

The price of that leg is insanely cheap. $50 is basically giving it away when you look up the average cost of a prosthetic leg. It makes me wonder if there was a breakup and this was supposed to be a gift. Maybe she got it and just didn't like it. It also makes me wonder if there is an even sadder twist to the story. If that's the case, my heart breaks for the individual. You can see the listing here.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
