The Secret Life of Toys: Why the Amarillo Public Library Wants Your Broken Toys
Kids in Amarillo love to play. Sometimes that playing involves playing with toys. Sometimes it just involves the imagination. All types of play are good for our kids.
Walk into the living room, the kids' room, or even a playroom, and look at all of the toys that they have. There could even be some broken ones hidden in the toy box. If your home is in need of some decluttering, now is the perfect opportunity.

It involves donating toys—whether they still work or not—so that kids can take them apart to see how they function. Kids love to try to figure out how things work. An experiment like that involves seeing the inner workings of the toys.
The Art of Curiosity: What is the Toy Take Apart Program?
Some kids' toys have plenty of moving parts that, if you take the toy apart, you can figure out just how it works. The Northwest Branch of the Amarillo Public Library, located at 6100 SW 9th Ave, hosts this popular event every year.
The event this year is coming up in March, so right now they are looking for toys to be donated:
Every year, our Northwest Branch Library offers an AWESOME Toy Take Apart program. If you're wondering what that is...it's just what it sounds like. Kids get to take toys apart and see the connections and moving pieces inside. To make this program happen, we ask for donations of electronic toys, and it's totally fine if they don't work anymore!
